Camp John Hay- Baguio City

I had the most wonderful Baguio experience because of the wedding I have attended held in Camp John Hay which is a very luxurious place that made Baguio, BAGUIO.

Camp John Hay, also known as "Little America" is located in the South Eastern Side of Baguio. Currently privately owned, some of the original structures in this 690-hectare land were replaced. Despite this, the place remained to have that charm and majestic appeal to any visitor. It is the most popular attraction in the Summer City Capital of the Philippines. A picturesque place that contains the world class golf course designed by Jack Niclaus which continuously caters the annual Fil-Am Golf Tournament.

This has long been a recreational area for American soldiers during WWII. Original structures of the old park are still maintained and operating- 19th Tee, Halfway House, Mile-Hi, Lone Star, Main Club, the Scout Hill Snack Bar and the Bakery. The private owner made revisions and renovations on some old structures. The Camp John Hay Manor for instance replaced the old Main Club. A Convention Center,Shopping center, lodges, hotels and town houses were also added in the place.

You can still visit some structures for free in this park as the Phil. Government retained some portion of the property- Commander's Cottage, Bell Ampitheater, and the Butterfly Sanctuary.

Bell Amphitheater

The wedding I have attended was held in the Bell Amphitheater of this park. The moment became very romantic as the bride walk down the aisle maximizing the garden stairs going to the center of the amphitheater. I got the chance to walk that wonderful aisle too. Then as we sat down for the ceremony, I glance around and saw the astonishing escalation of garden that surrounds the center dome. When the night was approaching, the coolness of Baguio started freezing me. Too bad I was with spaghetti straps and have not brought covering with me. LOL. I can remember how I made use of the table cloth to save me from further freezing...

The best part of the wedding was when we made air balloon lanterns and freed all of them to the air... It was just sooo amazing seeing the beauty of the night of Baguio in its best place at the best moment... =D Well Wishes!!
