Baguio Botanical Garden

A grandeur entrance flocked by a couple of natives in their Igorot clothing is the one of the noticeable attribute of Baguio Botanical Garden. This is a huge park which is about as big as the Burnham Park open for all for free. This park is also known as the Igorot Village which replicates the usual pacified and serene village of Baguio's native residents. The ground is filled with pine trees and a number of Igorot huts where you can spend time chilling. You can also see plants that are for sale inside.

Upon entering, a huge creative artwork welcomes you. You can also see around Igorots that you may hire to post with you in your photographs. Each person's fee is 10.00.

BTW, Just watch out because they usually join in your photo shoot as a bunch without permission and then pester you to pay them. One of the great attraction inside is the huge Igorot statue, though you have to walk for quite a distance in order to reach it. I did not see it because my sister was pursuing to go home.

Named after its architect,Daniel Hudson Burnham, Burnham Park remains to be one of the most loved parks in the Philippines. It is an open greenery surrounded by some of Baguio's known landmarks- the Baguio Cathedral, Baguio Market, Session Road.

Burnham Park is an ideal place for family picnic and other recreational activities. It has a huge lagoon where families can rent a boat and row. It also has a skating rink and an area for bicycling. The place is abundant with pine trees, roses, orchids and other specie of plants which all has a specific section in the Park.

Best of all... The Park is for free... thus you can visit it anytime you want.

Mines View in Baguio City!

A perfect site to witness the spectacular and breathtaking view of Benguet’s gold and copper mines. Mines View Park offers an overwhelming nature encounter as you see valleys and landscapes surrounding you. A sunny day will give you a vivid view of the valleys thus don’t miss renting some of the binoculars in the view deck for you to clearly see it. It will just cost a few pennies. More often the area is foggy thus the the scenery is obscured. So grab those cameras and enjoy while it is still majestically seen!

Here is my list of MUST DOS when you get a chance to pass by Mines View Park:

1)The park is really congested with booths which will make your tour much pleasurable. One of the great booths is a photoshoot section where you can have a shot on cuddly St. Bernard dogs… I took a shot with a dog named Doglas and he was really cute in our photo… ^___^ The 3 shots will cost you 50.00.

2)Another booth you will surely enjoy is a HENNA tattoo section. Choose a tattoo design which matches your Baguio feeling and flaunt it like you look so hot. Hahaha…

3)You can also enjoy a photoshoot with Baguio’s known costumes for Igorots. Rent some clothes and headdresses and internalize the Baguio look. I did enjoy my costume… You can really get nude and rent what they call the “bahag” which covers only your private part.. X_X Costume rent is worth 10.00

4)You can also hop on in some of their cool horses and pose as if you are a horse magnet or something… just be careful as you climb up. And be mindful of your shot cause each click is worth 10.00…. One thing I have observed is that the owner will let you borrow their hat so that you will take another shot and will pay another 10.00. shhhaaadddyyy~

5)Rent some Binoculars in the Observation Deck and enjoy a vivid view of the Valleys… Or just sit back and relax on scattered benches…

SAFETY REMINDER:
*** Be careful that you don’t slip, the stone-made stairway is often wet.
